  • Maroma Horseback riding is a great way to see the jungle and ocean. You'll be matched by experience level to your horse. Instructions and safety tips will be given before you start your ride. A guide will lead you through the jungle to the beach. Enjoy the flora of the Yucatan and a view of the beautiful Caribbean. The maximum number of riders on each tour is 22.

  • 0:00 – 0:30 - horseback ride through the jungle.
  • 0:30 – 1:00 - ride and relax on the beach
  • 1:00 – 1:30 - horseback trot through the jungle


  • DAYS OF OPERATION: Monday to Saturday.

    TIMES OF OPERATION: 9:30am, 12:00pm and 3:00pm.

    PICK-UP OR CHECK-IN: Time of pick-up at your hotel will be indicated on your voucher when you reserve. Pick-up for hotels in Playa del Carmen is at the Plaza Playacar. See FAQs below for the list of hotels and pick-ups.

    Maroma Horseback Riding

  • INCLUSIONS:
    Round trip transportation from and to your hotel, a 30 minute ride through the jungle, 30 minutes on the beach to cool off, – the horses are not allowed in the water - and then trotting 30 minutes back in the jungle. Equipment, bilingual tour guide, soft drink and bottled water, refreshments; soft drinks, and snacks ( refried beans and chips )in the restaurant on the beach, use of the beach facilities.


  • EXCLUSIONS:
    Tips, lockers – a $5usd deposit is required for use of the locker - $3usd will be returned to you when you return the key. Ferry tickets if coming from Cozumel. Not recommended for pregnant women or those with back problems.


  • REQUIRED:
    The maximum weight to ride the horses is 220 lbs. or 100 kilos. Closed shoes or boots – no sandals for the ride. Minimum age is 6. Children age 6 and up ride alone. The maximum number of riders is 8.


  • SUGGESTIONS:
    Closed shoes or boots for the ride, sandals for after, swimsuit, towel, change of clothes, camera, biodegradable sunscreen and insect repellant, hat, sunglasses, extra cash.
